Keval has been working in optics since 2006 and is fiercely passionate about independent optometry. After qualifying from City University London, he worked in cutting-edge independent practices in London and Oxford before moving to Exmouth in 2014.
Keval is the driving force behind much of the new technology in the practice, and he loves finding solutions to challenging vision problems. His key areas of focus are contact lenses, children’s vision, dry eye and macular degeneration. He has sat on the Council of the Association for Independent Optometrists (AIO) since 2017 and has spoken at various industry events.
Outside the consulting room, he enjoys jazz, scuba-diving and catching up with friends over a nice bottle of red wine!
Our Dispensing Opticians
Tom qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2010, and joined the practice in early 2017 after training at an independent practice in Exeter and gaining valuable experience at a well-known high street chain.
Tom’s specialty is translating our optometrist’s prescriptions into truly excellent pairs of glasses. From choosing – or designing – the right style of frame to suit both face & prescription, to working out the best way to incorporate sun protection or a sports-specific solution, Tom’s always got a bright idea up his sleeve.
Outside of work, Tom is a keen sportsman and plays squash, racketball & cricket to a high level.
Tes brings a wealth of experience to our dispensing team, having worked in places as varied as Wales, Jersey, and her native Australia.
Tes loves helping people find the perfect pair of glasses, and not only has a great eye for what styles suit people best but has also developed a knack for understanding what they feel most comfortable in.
When she’s not helping people with their specs, Tes loves to spend time with her dog Barney and is also a keen runner.
Our Reception & Support Staff
Emma joined the team in 2019, taking over from her mother, Gaye, who retired after 26 years at the practice. She is the familiar face you’ll see at the front desk and the voice you’ll hear at the end of the phone.
Emma is always on hand to book appointments, address any queries or take your contact lens orders… and with a background in interior design she often proves very helpful with frame styling when our clients need an extra opinion!
